Maker Educator Meetups

Maker Educator Meetups (MEM) are opportunities to meet with like minded educators so we can learn from each other. The  goals of MEMs are support, community, and equity — bringing design and making to all youth.  During these monthly meetups, we will share with each other, provide support, network, and maybe even do a little making.

There are currently two MEMs in the Bay Area — one focused in the East Bay, and another that rotates through different parts of the Bay Area.

We are using Google+ to organize ourselves, share meeting dates, and Eventbrite to RSVP for meetings. Use one of the links below to access the community and request membership. If there is no Ask to Join button, you need to join Google+ first – you can do this by logging into your gmail account, going to plus.google.com, and then registering. If you have any trouble getting in touch with us, contact the Creativity Lab and we will help you get in the loop. And register for our events!

  1. RE: Screen Printing in Maker Space

I wanted to ask if you were interested in bringing screen printing into Creativity Lab –if you haven’t already. We have a screen printing kit called Merchmakr that is compact, very portable, and easy to use. It’s the system that many Maker Faire exhibitors use when they do screen printing “Make Your Own T-shirts” exhibits, and it is often used during live events as well. You can check out some information about the kit at https://merchmakr.com/pages/make-your-own-t-shirts

I would love to talk with you about Merchmakr or screen printing in general.
